Got donated old encyclopedias? Make a table!

Weeding reference? Make great teen area furniture! This picture shows 25-year-old donated encyclopedias turned into tables for my library’s comfy chair corner. Check out husband Steve’s handiwork – he made me three of these by drilling holes in books, threading on a 5/16th steel all-thread rod screwed into a T-nut on the bottom of a table top from Home Depot. I think he should start his own Etsy business. Oh and just to add an audiobook connection, don’t forget about the cassette-tape-as-art craft I posted about awhile back…

Great idea! I’m on a search to find out what to do with our set of World Book encyclopedias. The results are so sad. No one wants them. In a magazine, I saw a coffee table made out of encyclopedias – two stacks – with a glass table top. It was very attractive.
