Are Cassettes Awful?
Posted by: Mary Burkey

The comments reflect what librarians know: times, they are a-changin’. I love the Awful Library Books blog – submissions have caused me to snort coffee out my nose more than once. The April 29 post “Books on Tape” asked readers to chime in and discuss audiobooks and formats, and specifically books on cassette.  Who still has them?  Why?  Do you have audiobooks in other formats too? The comments run the gamut, from toss-cassettes-out to books-on-tape-NOT-going-away. I’m sure any audiobook addict or A/V library has their two-cents to add to the conversation. And if you’re struggling to keep one foot on either side of a widening chasm, you’ll find plenty of fellow physical / digital jugglers to commiserate with as you ponder the ever-changing  formats. What do you think?
