Android app for OverDrive Audiobooks
Posted by: Mary Burkey

Yay! Free downloads from my public library! As the proud owner of a shiny new Android phone, I was a bit bummed out that no audiobook download app was available. But today OverDrive announced that they will release their Android app on December 21st, to compliment their current Windows Mobile app. Thanks for the holiday gift! Now perhaps Audible will follow your lead
Here’s the official announcement:
OverDrive will release OverDrive Media Console for Android on December 21. The free software for audiobooks can be downloaded to popular phones running the Android operating system, and used to enjoy audiobooks from your ‘Virtual Branch’ website.
Android users can now browse your collection, check out with a library card, and download audiobooks on-the-go. OMC for Android offers popular listening features like resume from furthest played point and custom bookmarking. At this time, OverDrive MP3 Audiobooks are the only digital format available for Android.
