Just in case you missed my mention on Twitter: Scott Brick, award-winning audiobook reader & producer, has teamed up with the Audio Publishers Association to create Share the Experience, a virtual American Idol for aspiring audiobook narrators. Here’s the scoop from Brick’s awesome blog:
To celebrate my tenth anniversary as an audiobook narrator, I’ve enlisted the aid of the Audio Publishers Association, and together we’re going to help someone get their foot in the door and become a professional audiobook narrator. We’ll have many prizes for a total of five winners. Our runners-up will win education in the art of audiobook narration. Personal training by world-class audiobook narration instructor Pat Fraley will go to our second-place winner. Copies of Pat’s instructional videos on DVD will be handed out to our third-place, fourth-place, and fifth-place winners, as well.
Our grand-prize winner will receive a personal instruction session with me to start off the day, followed up by recording work provided by various participating audio publishers: short stories and/or portions of books for some of the companies represented by our judges.
