Neil Gaiman on audiobooks
Posted by: Mary Burkey
Can you tell that I am a huge Gaiman fan? So you know how thrilled I was to receive news through the HarperCollins Audiobook enewsletter today about a three-minute video where Gaiman discusses his opinions about audiobooks and his feelings about narrating his own books. The HarperCollins website also has book group / teacher guides for many of Gaiman’s works, such Coraline and The Graveyard Book.
And I grabbed this widget to share with you ![]()

Hi Mary – Neil Gaiman does have an amazing voice. Did you see the video of his reading big chunks of the Graveyard Book aloud – posted on his website? Very compelling. He also reads aloud from a new picture book, Blueberry Girl on YouTube. Here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH4lyJWa_84
enjoy! Mary Ann

I listened to the Graveyard Book with my 8-year-old son, and we both loved it though I think we were enjoying the story very differently. Gaiman is such a good writer to be able to write the same story to two different readers and also to read it so well.
