One gloomy night a mysterious stranger named Dustfinger, played with raspy creepiness by Redgrave, brings bad news about his scheming friend Capricorn. An epic journey follows. Redgrave triumphs in her portrayal of crusty Elinor, a brusque book collector, and in her scathing rendition of Capricorn, who spits out hilarious nasty monologues. Through her wide-ranging tones and energetic, sly reading, Redgrave keeps the action hopping and effectively conveys Funke’s obvious love of books. Atmospheric music begins and ends the production. I wanted to get Inkheart to recap before the movie came out but it wasn't available. Brendan Fraser does a great job. I always have a bit of a hard time reading Cornelia Funke's books, but listening to them is a pleasure! I started listening to Inkspell over Christmas and love it.
